PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI once again demonstrates its commitment to the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program by fully supporting the State-Owned Enterprises Volunteer Program (RBB) Batch VII held in Pamekasan Regency, East Java, on February 17-19, 2025.
This program is an initiative of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (KBUMN) that took place simultaneously in 10 locations across Indonesia and involved 150 SOE employees.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo, emphasized that BNI's participation in this program is a form of the company's concern for the community, environment, and village economy.
"We hope that volunteers are not only active during the activities but also continue to spread this social spirit to their colleagues in their respective companies," said Okki in an official statement.
As the host in Pamekasan, BNI sent 5 volunteers from various divisions and operational offices of BNI along with 10 volunteers from various other state-owned enterprises.
RBB activities in Pamekasan covered various sectors, ranging from financial education to environmental preservation. At SDN 1 Jungcangcang, BNI volunteers introduced the RBB program and held a sharing session about state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and motivation for the school students.
They also distributed nutritious food, repaired school facilities, and held football matches with the students.
On February 18, the volunteers moved to Lembung Village to plant mangroves and received education about the importance of the mangrove forest ecosystem, as well as jointly helped to repair the wooden walkway area leading to the mangrove forest.
Not only that, they also trained 30 local MSME players in financial literacy and digital marketing strategies, as well as helped revitalize the infrastructure of mangrove forests and salt farming.
The activities continued to Aeng Tong Tong Village on February 19, where volunteers learned about the unique Madurese keris culture, assisted in the production of keris, and explored the village's potential for cultural tourism development.
"This program is expected to enhance the appeal of tourist villages and empower the local economy," added Okki.
As an added value, BNI Life provided free health check-ups to 150 residents of Aeng Tong Tong Village, and life insurance policies for the volunteers.
With the successful implementation of this activity, BNI further strengthens its role as an agent of change in building social and economic sustainability, and reaffirms its contribution in supporting government programs for the welfare of the community.
