BNI Creates Environmentally Friendly MSMEs Through BUMI 2025 Program

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI continues to show its commitment as a pioneer of sustainable finance in Indonesia. Coinciding with the commemoration of Earth Day every April 22, BNI launched the latest initiative in the BUMI Program (BNI UMKM Ramah Lingkungan) 2025, which aims to encourage Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) to play a greater role in green economic development.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo explained that the BUMI 2025 Program focuses on two main aspects, namely financial incentives and real action for environmental preservation.

“"To support MSMEs, we provide a cashback promo for administrative fees for every disbursement of People's Business Credit (KUR) and BNI Entrepreneurial Credit (BWU), both for new applications and top-ups. This program is valid with a limited quota, therefore, we urge business actors to immediately take advantage of this opportunity," said Okki in a written statement.

Not only offering financial incentives, BNI also carries the "Rooting for the Future" campaign which encourages direct contributions from debtors to environmental conservation. Through this program, every KUR or BWU application will be followed by planting one mangrove seedling in Pang-Pang Bay, Banyuwangi, East Java.

"This step is part of BNI's commitment to the 5 Pillars of Sustainability. We want MSMEs to not only grow in business, but also contribute to preserving the environment," added Okki.

The BUMI program itself was first launched in October 2023 as a business incubation program that prioritizes environmentally friendly principles in MSME operations. Program participants receive various benefits such as easy access to financing, training, business matching, and support to obtain environmental certification.

BNI also ensures that the direction of the BUMI Program development is in line with Bank Indonesia's guidelines regarding the strengthening of Green MSMEs. Through this program, BNI hopes to produce more business actors who are not only resilient and competitive, but also agents of change in creating a more sustainable earth.

With the BUMI 2025 Program, BNI reaffirms its role as a bank that not only drives economic growth, but also becomes a driving force for environmental sustainability in Indonesia.
