BNI's Measures to Encourage Digitalization of MSMEs to Compete in the Global Scene

PT Bank Negara Indonesia emphasizes its commitment to supporting the convenience of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through digital innovation. In addition to financing, BNI prepares three main aspects in encouraging easy and safe banking transactions.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that the digitalization of MSMEs is carried out through collaborative synergies in 3 aspects, including export MSMEs and diaspora, digital value chains, and superior ecosystems.
“Through this strategy, BNI's MSME partners can upgrade and encourage broader national economic growth,” Okki said in a press release.

Okki explained, the first aspect is export MSMEs and diaspora which is carried out through an export-ready MSME empowerment program to compete in the global arena through the BNI Xpora Platform. This platform helps develop MSME businesses more broadly to the international market by bridging exporters and importers through business matching and making banking transactions safe and comfortable.

“This strategic step is also supported by the strength of our overseas branch network which is spread across 9 strategic points of the world's financial centers so as to provide easy access to funding and transactions to Export MSMEs and Diaspora,” said Okki.

The second aspect is Digital Value Chain, where BNI provides convenience for business derivatives of corporate customers and BNI's business partners including access to funding through digital-based value chain schemes. Through the BNI Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) platform, BNI can meet the financing needs of the sale and purchase transactions of corporate customer partners and optimize working capital and cash flow arrangements for corporations that work with MSME business partners.

Meanwhile, for the third aspect, namely the Featured Ecosystem, BNI encourages the formation of a superior ecosystem in each BNI service area by seeing the great potential of the MSME segment.
“We do People's Business Credit (KUR) and Commercial Credit financing that focuses on low-risk sectors,” Okki concluded.
BNI supports the formation of the Go Global MSME ecosystem through Xpora. Besides that, digitization of MSME financial transactions is also carried out through cooperation with startups for financial records and collaboration for online marketing access through e-commerce.
As of March 2025, BNI recorded lending to the small segment of IDR73.7 trillion, while the medium business segment reached IDR96.5 trillion. This loan distribution emphasizes BNI's sustainability in supporting the small and medium loan business segments to be able to compete globally, as well as BNI's realization in supporting national economic growth.
