Commemorating Entrepreneurship Day, BNI Supports MSMEs to Upgrade and Be Sustainable and Go Global

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI took part in the commemoration of National Entrepreneurship Day held at the SMESCO Building Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. This activity is entitled “Resilient Entrepreneurship - MSMEs Grow, Indonesia Advances” and was initiated by the Ministry of MSMEs together with HIPMI.

This commemoration is a follow-up to the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2024 which established June 10 as National Entrepreneurship Day. This designation recognizes the important role of entrepreneurship in driving inclusive and competitive national economic growth.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that BNI's participation in this activity is a form of real support for the growth of national entrepreneurs.

“We want to be part of the solution in building MSMEs that are operationally independent, innovative in developing products and services, and sustainable through financing, mentoring, and digitization support in order to compete in national and global markets,” he said in a written statement.

The event was attended by various parties, including business actors, academics, central and local governments, and entrepreneurial networks from all over Indonesia. The involvement of various parties is evidence of the public's enthusiasm for the government's commitment to strengthen the national entrepreneurship ecosystem as a whole.

This commemoration is a strategic moment to encourage the growth of MSMEs and create strong entrepreneurs who are ready to compete. This spirit is in line with the big vision towards the Golden Indonesia 2045 and the values of populist economic development in Asta Cita 3 and Asta Cita 6.

BNI itself has serious attention to the MSME sector, especially those that are export-oriented. This concrete support is realized through the Xpora Powered by BNI program, which is the driving force for MSMEs to Go Global. The main focus of this program in 2025 is advisory and organizing business events that open up opportunities to increase the competitiveness and direct business impact of MSMEs.

A tangible form of BNI's support for the MSME segment is also the existence of segmented programs in empowering MSMEs in several sectors, including the BNI Jejak Kopi Khatulistiwa (JKK) Program, the BNI UMKM Ramah Lingkungan (BUMI) Program and BNI Desa Digital Khatulistiwa (Dedikasi) as well as programs to encourage MSMEs to upgrade.

As of April 2025, the total credit disbursed by BNI to export-oriented SME debtors has reached IDR33.6 trillion, covering 39,845 debtors in various strategic sectors. These sectors include manufacturing (Fisheries Production, Wood Products, Textiles), trade (Fisheries, Wood Arts, Handicrafts), Agriculture, Natural Resources and Others.

"Resilient MSMEs are an important foundation for the creation of an inclusive and competitive economy. BNI is committed to encouraging the strengthening of MSMEs through appropriate financing, training, mentoring, and the use of integrated digital technology," he said.

In the future, BNI is committed to continuing to spur the growth of entrepreneurial spirit across generations. The hope is that more new and excellent entrepreneurs will be born, thus making a real contribution to encouraging Indonesia's advanced and prosperous economic growth.
