PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI continues to strengthen its commitment in supporting the productive business sector through inclusive and sustainable financing. Most recently, BNI established a strategic partnership with PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (BSP) in distributing People's Business Credit (KUR) to more than 13,400 plasma farmers in three provinces.
This cooperation was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BNI Division Head Business Program Sunarna Eka Nugraha and BSP Deputy President Director Vinayaka B.S in Jakarta, Friday (20/6/2025).
The MoU signing was also witnessed by BSP President Director Bayu Irianto, BSP Director Andi Widianto, and BNI Enterprise Banking Division Department Head Annisa Milana.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said, this partnership is part of BNI's efforts as an agent of development to expand productive financing in the plantation sector, especially oil palm.
“This collaboration is a concrete form of BNI in strengthening the people's economy through inclusive and sustainable financing,” Okki said in a written statement.
BSP has been a BNI customer for 12 years since 2013. Through this collaboration, BNI targets the distribution of financing of up to IDR 1 trillion, with a total partnership land reaching 19,406 hectares spread across North Sumatra, Jambi and West Sumatra.
Okki further explained that the program not only provides access to capital to farmers, but also provides assistance to increase the productivity and efficiency of farming businesses. “We believe that this program will encourage the efficiency and sustainability of the smallholder palm oil industry,” he added.
The five BSP subsidiaries involved in this program include PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations in Kisaran, PT Grahadura Leidong Prima in Aek Kanopan, PT Agrowiyana in West Tanjung Jabung, PT Sumbertama Nusa Pertiwi in Muaro Jambi, and PT Bakrie Pasaman Plantation in Pasaman.
“BNI hopes that this collaboration can become a model for strengthening partnership-based agricultural ecosystems, which in turn will help strengthen national food and energy security,” Okki concluded.
With this collaboration, BNI emphasizes its role in supporting farmer empowerment through integrated and sustainable financial access.
