(20/10/2025) - A total of 232 athletes from 15 countries are confirmed to compete in the wondr by BNI Indonesia Masters 2025, which will be held at the PBSI Sports Hall in North Sumatra, Medan, from October 21 to 26, 2025. This BWF World Tour Super 100 tournament offers a total prize pool of USD 110,000 (approximately Rp1.8 billion) and becomes as an important platform for young badminton players to accumulate world ranking points.
This year's event is attended by representatives from Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Japan, Thailand, Macau China, India, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Poland, Sri Lanka, the United States, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. The presence of participants from across continents confirms Indonesia's appeal as the host of international tournaments while enriching the competition in five categories.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo emphasized that BNI's support through the wondr by BNI platform is part of the company's commitment to developing the national badminton ecosystem.
“Badminton unites the nation and brings pride to Indonesia to the world. BNI is eager to play an active role in developing a generation of young achievers and ensuring the continuity of training from an early age to the world-class level,” said Okki.
Okki added that, in addition to supporting international tournaments in Medan, BNI is also involved in a number of national championships in various cities to strengthen coaching and expand the athlete base. This strategy is expected to have an impact on improving the quality of domestic competition and providing opportunities for young athletes to advance to higher levels.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee Armand Darmadji said that Medan has once again been entrusted by PBSI and BWF to host the event after successfully organizing the Xpora Indonesia International Challenge 2023 and BNI Indonesia Masters 2023.
“Super 100 in Medan is a crucial stage for young Indonesian athletes to earn BWF points and flying hours before advancing to the Super 300 level or higher,” said Armand.
In terms of organization, Super 100 often serves as a stepping stone for reserve and junior players to challenge regional favorites, while also honing their mental toughness in an international tournament atmosphere. The fierce competition in the early rounds usually brings surprises, given the relatively small difference in quality between players.
Tickets for the wondr by BNI Indonesia Masters 2025 went on sale on the first day of the tournament. Ticket prices range from IDR 30,000 to IDR 60,000 and can be purchased daily at the ticket box office before the match starts.
With a balanced composition of participants and full support from BNI, wondr by BNI Indonesia Masters 2025 is expected to not only present high-quality matches, but also strengthen the sustainable development of Indonesian badminton and boost the local economy through sports tourism in Medan.
