The start of this international running event was marked by a flag-off ceremony held at the Gelora Bung Karno Sport Complex in Jakarta, attended by the Chairman of the Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Danantara Pandu Sjahrir, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, KLAB President Director Dickie Widjaja, BNI Deputy President Commissioner Tedi Bharata, and BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan along with other directors and commissioners.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that the wondr JRF 2025 event has become more than just a sporting event, but also a celebration of healthy lifestyles, community collaboration, and a driver of the creative economy that has a broad impact on the city of Jakarta.
“We want to show that the spirit of #LangkahBersama BNI is not just a slogan, but a real commitment to inspire the community to protect the earth and drive the economy,” said Okki.
First held in October 2022, this annual event has continued to grow into a successful international long-distance running and marathon event that attracts runners from all over the world. This year, 27,300 runners from 48 countries participated in a series of races that combined sports, entertainment, product expos, and community activities celebrating the spirit of Jakarta.
In addition to the main activities, the wondr JRF Expo 2025, which runs from October 23 to 26, 2025, at Istora Senayan, will also feature 100 brands and 138 merchants showcasing sports, fashion, healthy lifestyle, and culinary products from various national and international brands.
With the support of the #LangkahBersama collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government, PASI, MRT Jakarta, more than 500 running communities, and other strategic partners, BNI hopes that this event can become a sports tourism attraction that strengthens Jakarta's position as a major destination in Southeast Asia.
Okki explained that BNI is also committed to making wondr JRF 2025 a sustainable and environmentally friendly event. “We are implementing a zero waste to landfill concept by providing waste sorting facilities, conducting measurable recording and reporting, and ensuring that all activities take place without leaving a negative impact on the environment,” he elaborated.
BNI and the organizers also manage carbon emissions generated from all operational activities of this event, including energy use on site and fuel for logistics (Scope 1 and Scope 2). All emissions generated are offset through certified projects registered in the National Registry System (SRN) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, in line with Indonesia's Net Zero Emissions 2060 target.
“By participating in JRF, runners become part of a movement that not only celebrates performance, but also progress. Every step means one step closer to a cleaner, lower-carbon future for Jakarta and Indonesia,” Okki concluded.
