PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI confirmed its commitment to supporting the growth of the country's creative economy by becoming the main sponsor of the latest action movie TIMUR. This movie, directed by Iko Uwais, is a symbol of synergy between the financial sector and the creative industry, as well as a concrete step by BNI in strengthening the national cinema ecosystem.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that BNI's involvement in the production of this movie was part of the company's social responsibility in growing Indonesia's creative economic potential.
"The film industry has an important role in enriching the national narrative and building optimism in the younger generation. Through support for the TIMUR movie, BNI wants to contribute to fostering the spirit of nationalism and expanding the impact of Indonesia's creative economy so that it is increasingly recognized at the global level," said Okki in a written statement.
The movie TIMUR was produced by Iko Uwais who also plays the main character, and involves Nagita Slavina as Executive Producer and Ryan Santoso as Producer. This film also stars Jimmy Kobogau, Aufa Assagaf, Yusuf Mahardika, Billy Bizael Tanasale, Beyon Destiano, Amara Angelica, and Macho Hungan.
With the subject of struggle and heroism, TIMUR narrates the story of a special forces mission that fought to save a group of researchers kidnapped in the wilderness. In the process, the main character must confront physical and emotional hurdles while reconciling with his past. This film, inspired by a true story, will be released in cinemas on December 18, 2025.
The heroic story in this movie is in line with the values promoted by BNI, namely the spirit of struggle, collaboration and nationalism, as reflected in the company slogan 'Serving the Country, Proud of the Nation'.
The official launch of the movie TIMUR was held through a press conference at Plaza Senayan XXI, Jakarta, on Thursday (6/11/2025). This event was attended by film actors, national media, key opinion leaders (KOL), as well as representatives of the creative industry. On this occasion, the official poster and trailer for the movie TIMUR were also introduced to the public.
Okki further explained that BNI's support for the film industry is part of the company's ongoing commitment to strengthening the national creative economy ecosystem. Previously, BNI had also taken part in various cultural, music and performing arts programs engaging the younger generation and local business actors.
This step also strengthens BNI's position as a partner for sustainable economic development, as well as expanding the reach of the lifestyle banking ecosystem which is relevant for modern society, especially young and digital savvy people.
