BI Appreciates BSI's Contribution to the Consumer Protection Education Movement

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI)'s commitment to strengthening consumer protection education has received recognition from Bank Indonesia (BI). The company received appreciation for its involvement in the success of the Joint Movement of Consumer Protection Education (GEBER PK), through the Education Horizon Outlet initiative and the Safe Discussion Space for All Indonesian Consumers (CERDAS).

The award was presented by the Head of BI's Consumer Protection Department, Anton Daryono, to BNI's Director of Operations, Ronny Venir, and witnessed by BI Governing Board Member, Filianingsih Hendarta, at the "Appreciation and Kick-Off GEBER PK 2025/2026" event in Jakarta on November 3, 2025.

BNI Operations Director Ronny Venir expressed appreciation for BI's trust in BNI to be a partner in implementing the consumer protection literacy program.

"BNI greatly appreciates the trust Bank Indonesia has placed in us to collaborate on bringing the CERDAS Outlet as a pilot project. We believe that increasing consumer literacy, especially among students as a digitally literate generation, is key to creating a safe and sustainable digital transaction ecosystem," said Ronny.

As part of the program implementation, BNI collaborated with the University of Indonesia (UI) to establish the CERDAS Outlet as an education center and discussion space regarding consumer protection. The facility was inaugurated on October 29, 2025, and serves as a pilot location to expand students' understanding of rights and security in digital transactions.

The CERDAS booth is designed as a learning center for personal data protection, recognizing digital fraud methods, risk mitigation steps, and initial handling when facing transaction security threats. This approach combines two-way education through consultation facilities, discussions, and the provision of easily understandable literacy materials.

Ronny added that the presence of CERDAS Booth on campus is a strategic effort to strengthen digital security culture among young people.

"Through CERDAS Booth, we want to cultivate a culture of digital security awareness among the younger generation, and equip them with the necessary understanding to keep their daily transactions safe," he emphasized.

Going forward, BNI will continue to expand its contributions in consumer protection, including through ongoing collaboration with universities, regulators, and other stakeholders. The company hopes that CERDAS Booth can become a model adopted by the financial services industry to strengthen digital security literacy throughout Indonesia.

As part of the national consumer protection vision, this initiative is expected to contribute to creating a safer, healthier, and more inclusive digital transaction ecosystem amidst the acceleration of economic digitalization.
