PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, has once again reaffirmed its support for the development of national sports by supporting Indonesian badminton athletes as they compete in the Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) 2026 at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in China from April 7–12, 2026.
Indonesia's participation in this Asian-level tournament is part of its efforts to maintain its position as one of the world's leading badminton powers, while also gauging the athletes' readiness for global competition.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that BNI’s support for the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) is a long-term commitment to fostering the development of top-tier athletes at the international level.
“BNI believes that sports are a strategic tool for fostering national pride while enhancing Indonesia’s competitiveness on the global stage. As a partner of PBSI, we are committed to continuing our support for the sustained development of athletes,” Okki said in a written statement.
As a strategic partner of PBSI for more than five years, BNI has consistently supported athlete development from an early age through to the elite level. This support is seen as aligned with the national development agenda to cultivate outstanding and competitive human resources.
A number of promising young athletes, such as Alwi Farhan, Putri Kusuma Wardani, and the men’s doubles pair Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin, are part of the Indonesian squad that will compete to represent the nation at the event.
BNI believes that the participation of Indonesian athletes in the BAC 2026 is not only focused on achieving results, but also on enhancing their competitive experience at the international level and fostering a winning mindset.
Collaboration between state-owned enterprises, sports federations, and athletes is considered a key factor in creating a sustainable and competitive sports ecosystem at the global level.
Through this ongoing support, BNI hopes that Indonesia will continue to nurture talented athletes who can uphold the tradition of excellence and bring honor to the nation on the international stage.
