BNI and the Government Synergy Promotes Affordable Housing and the People's Economy in Manado

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) strengthens access to affordable housing through participation in the Collaborative Housing Financing and Community Economic Empowerment Program in Manado, North Sulawesi. The event, held at the Bumi Beringin Governor's Building in Manado on Wednesday (4/8/2026), included a series of outreach sessions and financing agreements, including for Housing Ownership Credit (KPP) and Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP).

This collaborative program is a synergy between the central government, local governments, financing institutions, and the banking sector to expand access to housing financing for low-income communities while simultaneously encouraging local economic empowerment.

A total of 600 participants attended the activity, consisting of 300 PNM participants, 200 KUR participants, and 100 participants of the Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) program which included MSME actors, housing developers, building shop partners, and prospective beneficiary communities.

The event was also attended by the Head of the Housing Task Force, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, the Governor of North Sulawesi, Yulius Selvanus, and a number of institutional leaders and other strategic partners.

BNI Consumer Banking Director Corina Leyla Karnalies said the housing sector plays a strategic role in national development because it directly impacts people's welfare.

"The housing sector has a significant multiplier effect, not only improving people's quality of life but also driving regional economic growth through job creation and strengthening supporting sectors," Corina said in a written statement.

She emphasized that through this housing financing program, the government is providing more affordable financing for low-income communities.

As one of the main distributing banks, BNI is committed to strengthening program implementation by increasing product understanding in its office network, expanding cooperation with local governments and developers, and actively collaborating with the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas.

According to Corina, the impact of the housing finance program is not only limited to home ownership, but also contributes to employment absorption and strengthening the supply chain of the construction sector and MSMEs in the region.

BNI also provides digital service support through the wondr by BNI application, which makes it easier for customers to make installment payments, make transactions, and monitor their financial condition safely and quickly.

"We continue to provide integrated services so that people can access housing financing easily, safely, and sustainably," Corina emphasized.

Through collaboration on housing financing and community economic empowerment, BNI is optimistic that synergy between the government, banks, developers, and communities can accelerate the realization of affordable housing while strengthening regional economies. This step underscores BNI's commitment to promoting inclusive housing financing while strengthening sustainable economic growth across Indonesia.
