PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the advancement of national sports through its ongoing support of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI). This time, BNI is supporting Indonesia's young and talented athletes at the Thailand Open 2026, which will take place at Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, from May 12–17, 2026.
Indonesia is fielding a total of 17 top representatives at the BWF World Tour Super 500 international badminton tournament, competing for a total prize pool of USD 500,000. The presence of these young athletes in the tournament is a powerful symbol of Indonesia's rejuvenated badminton scene, which is being nurtured through ongoing development.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that the Thailand Open 2026 is not only a stage for world-class athletes, but also a crucial opportunity for young Indonesian talent to showcase their quality and champion mentality at the international level.
"BNI is committed to continuing to support the development and regeneration of national badminton athletes. We believe that investing in young athletes is a strategic step to maintain Indonesia's tradition of achievement on the global stage," Okki said in an official statement.
The Thailand Open 2026 also features several new faces who are promising for the future of Indonesian badminton. In the men's doubles, the new pairing of Bagas Maulana and Putra Erwiansyah is ready to make their international debut. Meanwhile, in the mixed doubles, the young pairing of Verrel Yustin Mulia and Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata will also have the opportunity to showcase their skills.
The spotlight is also on Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan, who is making her debut at the BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament in the women’s singles category. In addition, this event marks the return of the men’s doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin, who are ready to bolster Indonesia’s competitive edge once again.
In the men’s singles category, Indonesia’s team features Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah, Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo, and Muhammad Yusuf, who began his campaign in the qualifying round. In the women’s singles category, Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi is also bringing optimism to the Indonesian team.
The men's doubles team is also bolstered by Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Rahmat Hidayat. In the women's doubles, Indonesia is fielding Isyana Syahira Meida and Rinjani Kwinnara Nastine, as well as Lanny Tria Mayasari and Apriyani Rahayu.
The mixed doubles sector features Jafar Hidayatullah and Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, Amri Syahnawi and Nita Violina Marwah, Adnan Maulana and Indah Cahya Sari Jamil, Dejan Ferdinansyah and Bernadine Anindiya Wardana, and Bobby Setiabudi and Melati Daeva Oktavianti.
Okki asserted that BNI's strategic partnership with PBSI is part of the company's long-term commitment to supporting the national badminton development ecosystem, from early childhood through to the elite national training camp level.
