Watching the Indonesia Open 2026 Is Now More Convenient: BNI Introduces a Digital Payment Ecosystem at Istora

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, is introducing an integrated digital payment ecosystem at the Indonesia Open 2026 at Istora Senayan in Jakarta to enhance visitor convenience and expand the adoption of cashless transactions at this international-scale sporting event.

Throughout the tournament, which runs from June 2–7, 2026, visitors can make various transactions using Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machines and BNI’s wondr QRIS at ticket booths, merchandise booths, and food vendors operating in the venue.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that the launch of this digital payment solution is part of the company’s commitment to providing easy, secure, and reliable transaction services tailored to the needs of a public that is increasingly adopting a digital lifestyle.

“While watching world-class badminton players compete, visitors can enjoy a more convenient and seamless payment experience. BNI is offering a variety of digital payment channels that can be easily used by both visitors and vendors throughout the Indonesia Open,” Okki said in a written statement.

BNI reports that more than 50 food vendors and supporting businesses are participating in the Indonesia Open 2026. Thanks to support from EDC and QRIS wondr by BNI, transactions can be processed quickly and efficiently without the need for cash.

According to Okki, the implementation of digital payment systems at international sporting events not only provides convenience for visitors but also supports the expansion of the cashless transaction ecosystem across various economic sectors.

“As a strategic partner of PBSI, BNI is committed to supporting the overall development of badminton in Indonesia. In addition to supporting athlete development and tournament organization, we also want to ensure that visitors have a more comfortable experience through secure, fast, and convenient digital transaction services,” he said.

BNI’s support for the Indonesia Open is part of the company’s long-term partnership with the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI). In addition to supporting athlete development and performance enhancement, BNI also plays a role in providing financial services infrastructure that ensures the smooth running of international tournaments.

BNI is also leveraging the momentum of the Indonesia Open 2026 to expand the adoption of its digital services. Through the wondr by BNI app, customers can access a variety of digital banking services, including account opening and more flexible daily transactions. The company is also currently running the Rejeki wondr BNI 2026 program as part of its strategy to boost customer engagement.

The presence of this digital payment ecosystem also benefits businesses operating within the stadium, from food vendors to official merchandise sellers, by enabling more efficient and well-documented transactions.

BNI believes that the digitization of payments in various community activities, including sporting events, plays a crucial role in strengthening financial inclusion and driving the nation’s digital economic transformation.

Through the ongoing development of digital services, BNI hopes to continue providing relevant financial solutions to the public while supporting the creation of a more integrated experience across various activities, including world-class sporting events such as the Indonesia Open 2026.
