BNI Won Award for Best SME and Trade Finance Bank

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, won two international awards at the AlphaSEA–20th Best Financial Institution Awards 2026. The company was named Best SME Bank in Indonesia and Best Trade Finance Bank in Indonesia.

The award from Alpha Southeast Asia was presented during a ceremony held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Jakarta on Monday (06/29/2026). This achievement recognizes the development of digital services for businesses, particularly in the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) segment, as well as the strengthening of BNI’s trade finance services.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said the award reflects the company’s consistent efforts to provide transaction banking and trade finance services that are increasingly digital, integrated, and tailored to customer needs.

“This award recognizes BNI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its digital transaction banking capabilities and provide trade finance solutions that support business growth and expand access to financial services for MSMEs,” Okki said in a written statement.

The “Best SME Bank in Indonesia” award was presented in recognition of the development of the BNIdirect business platform to support the digital transformation of MSMEs. The platform provides real-time cash flow monitoring, liquidity management, and transaction services that can be used to support business operations.

The use of these services is reflected in BNIdirect’s business performance throughout 2025. The platform recorded a transaction volume of IDR15.39 trillion, derived from more than 388,000 transactions.

This achievement demonstrates the growing use of digital banking services by business customers, including MSMEs, who require faster and more efficient access to transactions and financial management.

Meanwhile, the “Best Trade Finance Bank in Indonesia” award marks the 16th such award BNI has received over the 20-year history of the event. This consistency reflects BNI’s position as a provider of trade finance services to customers engaged in both domestic and international trade.

Through BNI Trade Online and BNIdirect Trade, customers can submit, process, and monitor trade transactions online. These services were developed to streamline the transaction process while making it easier for companies to manage their trade needs.

BNI also provides bank guarantee services with plans that can be tailored to customers’ needs. The company offers same-day issuance in accordance with applicable terms and conditions, supported by a service network across various regions in Indonesia.

In Okki's view, the award from Alpha Southeast Asia reflects international confidence in the quality of BNI's services, which continue to evolve in line with changing customer needs and the dynamics of global business.

“This recognition motivates BNI to continue improving service quality, strengthening digital innovation, and providing financial solutions that deliver added value to all customer segments,” he said.

Moving forward, BNI will continue to develop adaptive and secure transaction banking and trade finance services. Strengthening these capabilities is expected to support customer transactions across various sectors, expand access to services for MSMEs, and enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian businesses.
