BNI Brings PBSI's Regeneration Spirit to the World Stage, While Fajar/Fikri and Alwi Making History

The Singapore Open 2026 was more than just a tournament for Indonesian badminton. Amidst intense global competition, the BWF World Tour Super 750 event showcased how consistent coaching can produce achievements and maintain the Indonesian national team's glorious tradition.

The story unfolded through the men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, who secured their place in the final after defeating China's Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang 23-21, 21-4 in 37 minutes. This result was a significant achievement, marking Fajar and Fikri's first final appearance at the BWF World Tour Super 750 level in 2026.

In the men's singles category, Alwi Farhan also made promising progress. The young Indonesian badminton player reached the semifinals, marking his career-best performance at a Super 750 tournament. Although he was stopped before the final, Alwi's performance demonstrated that the next generation of Indonesian badminton players is increasingly ready to compete at the global elite.

Corporate Secretary BNI Okki Rushartomo mengatakan, capaian para atlet di Singapore Open 2026 menjadi bukti bahwa proses regenerasi dan pembinaan yang dijalankan PBSI terus bergerak ke arah yang positif.

"Fajar/Fikri's success in reaching the final, along with Alwi Farhan's achievement in competing all the way to the semifinals, is proof that the regeneration process of Indonesian badminton athletes is progressing well and continues to show positive results," said Okki.

For BNI, this achievement is not just the result of a single match, but rather the fruit of a long, ongoing process of athlete development. Since establishing a strategic partnership with PBSI in 2021, BNI has consistently supported the development of national badminton talent, from developing young athletes to strengthening a sustainable performance ecosystem.

This commitment is in line with BNI's role as a national bank that not only supports economic growth but also contributes to the development of Indonesian human resources through sports.

BNI believes that sporting achievements are an important instrument for building national pride and inspiring the younger generation to continue to dare to dream, work hard, and achieve.

The achievements of Fajar/Fikri and Alwi Farhan indicate that Indonesian badminton is headed in the right direction. The presence of athletes capable of competing on the global level proves that the regeneration process is ongoing, and Indonesia's tradition of achievement being upheld.

BNI will continue to support various PBSI development programs as part of its long-term commitment to producing a generation of high-achieving athletes capable of bringing honor to Indonesia on the international stage.

"We hope the athletes can perform optimally in the final and continue Indonesia's tradition of badminton success at the world level," Okki emphasized.

Moving forward, BNI believes that every great achievement begins with a consistent coaching process. Therefore, support for national sports will continue to be part of BNI's contribution to building a more competitive, high-achieving, and proud Indonesia in the eyes of the world.
