BNI Collaborates with TradeBeyond Limited Finding Buyers for Indonesian Products

Jakarta, 23 February 2022 -- Starting 2022, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), Tbk. (BNI) continues to expand its international business performance. With a mandate as an Indonesian global Bank, BNI cooperates with TradeBeyond Limited, one of the largest digital e-commerce platforms in Hong Kong.

This collaboration is expected to be a momentum to increase exports because this platform displays products from all over the world and connects with buyers from various countries.

The signing was carried out by the General Manager of BNI Hong Kong, Endah Tjahyani with the Director of Finance and Personnel of TradeBeyond Limited, Amy Lam in the online Diaspora Trade Talk Series–BNI Hong Kong webinar.

The signing of this collaboration was witnessed by the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Hong Kong, Ricky Suhendar and all webinar participants from various institutions and communities spread across countries such as Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Macao on Tuesday, 22 February 2022.

BNI’s Treasury and International Director, Henry Panjaitan said the company always strives to be proactive to continue to improve global business performance. Apart from the mandate from the government, global business has enormous potential for corporate business actors as well as MSMEs to increase business acceleration. "This strategic collaboration between the Hong Kong Branch of BNI and TradeBeyond Limited is also a manifestation of BNI's commitment to play an active role and continue to support Indonesian MSMEs going global, by utilizing digital e-commerce platforms in marketing products as well as bringing together buyers abroad", he said.

Henry explained that through this digital e-commerce platform, it is expected to encourage exports from Indonesian suppliers for the Decorative Arts and Crafts category such as household appliances, furniture and home decorations. Then there are the categories of gifts, toys, games, and medical equipment. This Indonesian manufacturer will connect directly to overseas retailers and buyers through the TradeBeyond portal and application.

On the same occasion BNI also held the webinar of Diaspora Trade Talk Series–BNI Hong Kong by presenting qualified speakers in Hong Kong such as the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Indonesia Chambers of Commerce in Hong Kong (INACHAMHK) who explained the latest issues related to the trade potential of ASEAN countries, especially Indonesia, which plays an important role in trade in Asia and the world, as well as trade developments in the digital era. This Diaspora Trade Talk series webinar is a series of events organized by BNI ahead of the Global Trade Forum 2022 event which will be held in June.

On this occasion, Endah Tjahyani said TradeBeyond is a B2B platform that brings together buyers/importers (retailers) from various parts of the world with sellers/exporters (suppliers). Currently there are 70 types of MSME products from Indonesia from 50 BNI Xpora MSMEs that have used TradeBeyond.

Not only bringing together buyers and sellers in the digital ecosystem, BNI and TradeBeyond are also committed to equipping selected MSMEs with the skills and knowledge related to digital marketing and online platforms as a provision for MSMEs to reach the international market. "Through this collaboration, BNI Hong Kong branch hopes to encourage MSME players to market their products to foreign countries. BNI Hong Kong Branch will continue to play an active role in facilitating Indonesia-related business in Hong Kong and provide the best international services to support the needs of global business partners," he added.
