PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI also contributed to the success of the free homecoming program initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in order to support the smooth flow of Eid homecoming using mass transportation.
Present at the free homecoming launch which took place in the GBK area, Jakarta were Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Secretary of the Ministry of SOEs Rabin Indrajad Hattari, and Deputy for Human Resources, Technology, and Information of the Ministry of SOEs Tedi Bharata as well as the board of directors of SOEs, including President Director of BNI Putrama Wahju Setyawan.
On that occasion, Putrama had time to chat and pray for the homecoming travelers to be given strength to undergo fasting and be given health during the trip. He also advised that bus drivers who take the homecoming travelers to obey the existing traffic signs and rules for safety during the trip to their hometowns.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo explained that in the program entitled "Safe Homecoming to Destination", BNI provides 121 buses to Purwokerto, Semarang, Yogyakarta via Solo, Surabaya, Malang, Lampung, Palembang, and Padang.
With the number of free homecoming fleets provided, the company aims to almost double the number of home-comers it can serve from last year's realization of 3,121 to 6,050 homecoming travelers. This is a real manifestation of BNI's contribution to social care.
Not only in GBK, the free homecoming release provided by BNI was also carried out in a number of BNI Regional Offices in Jabodetabek. The activity is a synergy with other SOEs which is carried out simultaneously.
"With a commitment to supporting community mobility, BNI together with other state-owned enterprises is also providing safe and comfortable public transportation services for homecoming travelers this Eid season," said Okki in a written statement.
Okki continued, BNI as a state-owned enterprise is committed to continuing to actively contribute to providing benefits to the community, including through the implementation of this free homecoming.
BNI's participation in the BUMN Free Homecoming Program was previously carried out in 2023, where the realization of participants reached 2,030 and in 2024 as many as 3,121 homecoming travelers. The targeted participants are underprivileged communities, customer partners, and BNI stakeholders who need homecoming transportation.
By organizing this free homecoming, BNI hopes to provide benefits and added value for the community to return home safely and comfortably.
