BNI, Ministries of PKP, KP2MI, and BP Tapera Collaborate to Provide Affordable Mortgages for Indonesian Migrant Workers

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is collaborating with the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI), and BP Tapera in providing subsidized housing financing solutions to Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI).

This step is one of BNI's efforts to support the government's target to provide affordable housing for 20,000 migrant workers.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was carried out between BNI and the Ministries of PKP, KP2MI, BP Tapera, and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The event was held at Bumi Pagaden Permai 3 Housing, Subang, West Java, Thursday (8/5/2025).

Present at the event were among others the Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Abdul Kadir Karding, the Director General of Rural Housing of the Ministry of PKP Imran, the Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, the Director of Consumer Banking BNI Corina Leyla Karnalies and the Director of Institutions BNI Eko Setyo Nugroho.

"This memorandum of understanding is a joint synergy in supporting housing financing for Indonesian Migrant Workers through the BP Tapera and KPR Sejahtera Program, as well as a real manifestation of BNI as a global bank that is present for Indonesian people all over the world," said Corina Leyla Karnalies in a written statement.

This program is a real manifestation of the government in expanding access to home ownership for Indonesian Migrant Workers.

BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho said, through an affordable and sustainable financing scheme, BP Tapera and its partners present housing solutions that are not only feasible, but also in accordance with the needs of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and their families.

"We understand that having your own home is the dream of many PMI. This synergy is a form of state appreciation to the Foreign Exchange Heroes who have fought overseas," he said.

Furthermore, Heru also expressed his commitment to providing housing that is not only affordable, but also of high quality.

On that occasion, a Home Ownership Credit (KPR) agreement was also executed, represented by three Indonesian Migrant Workers. In addition, 90 Indonesian Migrant Workers also witnessed the event online, including those in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
