Contributing to Public Services Digitalization, BNI Receives Two GovMedia Awards 2025

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI made another achievement in the international arena by winning two awards at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2025 event held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, Thursday (19/6/2025). The award was given for BNI's contribution in encouraging the digitization of public services in Indonesia.

The awards achieved include the Indonesia Digital Transformation of the Year - Finance category for BNI's support for the government's digitization agenda through Govtech projects, as well as the Indonesia Public Sector Initiative of the Year - Finance thanks to the BNI Smart Ecosystem innovation.

The GovMedia Awards is a prestigious event that recognizes innovative initiatives from, for, and with government agencies in the Asia Pacific region. The assessment is conducted by an independent panel of renowned global accounting firms such as KPMG, PwC Singapore, and EY Consulting.

BNI Corporate Banking Director Agung Prabowo said, this appreciation is a motivation for BNI to continue to strengthen collaboration with government agencies, especially in the use of digital technology.

“We believe that the synergy between the banking sector and the government is key in encouraging the acceleration of public service transformation in Indonesia,” Agung said in an official statement in Jakarta, Monday (30/6/2025).

Agung further explained, BNI recorded a number of real contributions in the transformation of national public services. Since 2023, BNI has collaborated with the Ministry of Health to digitize the distribution of Health Operational Assistance (BOK) funds to more than 9,000 health centers throughout Indonesia.

In the fiscal sector, BNI has pioneered the implementation of QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) for the State Revenue Module (MPN) since 2024. “This innovation simplifies the tax and levy transaction process through QR codes, accelerates the flow of funds, and increases government accountability,” Agung explained.

One of BNI's key innovations recognized in the GovMedia Awards is BNI Smart Ecosystem, an integrated digital solution for the health, education and regional sectors. This solution combines financial services, information technology and digital-based management systems to drive efficiency and transparency in public services.

Agung also highlighted BNI's positive achievements in the aspect of digitization through BNIdirect services. In the first quarter of 2025, the transaction value through BNIdirect jumped 33.2% on an annual basis (Year on Year/YoY) to IDR 2,374 trillion. The number of transactions increased 16.4% YoY to 337 million transactions, with growth in the number of users reaching 188,000 accounts.

“With this achievement, BNI has further strengthened its position as a strategic partner of the government and a major player in the development of digital financial infrastructure that is inclusive, efficient, and has a direct impact on improving public services,” Agung concluded.

In the awarding event, the award was received directly by BNI management led by BNI Division Head Wholesale Transaction Product & Partnership I Gede Widya Anantayoga.

This achievement confirms BNI's commitment in becoming an enabler of digital transformation of the Indonesian public sector, encouraging efficiency, transparency and inclusiveness of state services to the community.
