Wondr ITB Ultra Marathon Concludes with a Flourish, BNI and ITB Strengthening Collaboration for Education

The ITB Ultra Marathon 2025 series officially concluded on Sunday (28/9/2025) with a flag-off fun run and victory run at the ITB Ganesha Campus in Bandung. The annual event, which covered the 180-kilometer Jakarta-Bandung route, drew more than 3,900 runners and thousands of supporters, making it one of the largest sporting and community events in the country.

The closing ceremony was marked by the symbolic presentation of prizes to the winners. Also in attendance were Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Mayor of Bandung Muhammad Farhan, ITB Chancellor Tatacipta Dirgantara, BNI Independent Commissioner Vera Febyanthy, BNI Institutional Banking Director Eko Setyo Nugroho, and the ITB alumni management team. Thousands of alumni, academic staff, and the general public joined in to liven up the atmosphere.

ITB Chancellor Tatacipta Dirgantara, who was also the 16th runner on the Professors' relay team, viewed this event as a symbol of collaboration worth maintaining. "Imagine, 3,900 runners plus supporters, perhaps 10,000 alumni in total, involved. It's extraordinary. Hopefully, we can develop more ideas together," said Tata.

Meanwhile, BNI Institutional Banking Director Eko Setyo Nugroho expressed his appreciation for the involvement of all parties. He stated that the event, which has been running since 2017, is not just a running competition, but also a moment of solidarity and tangible contribution to the world of education. "Congratulations to all participants. This event is not just a running competition, but also a moment of togetherness that fosters a spirit of solidarity," he said.

Carrying the theme Stronger Unity in Diversity, this year's wondr ITB Ultra Marathon also served as a means of raising the ITB Sustainable Fund. The funds will be allocated for research, scholarships, human resource development, educational infrastructure, and enhancing ITB's global reputation. In addition, BNI hosted a bazaar at the ITB Ganesha Campus with various promotions for BNI Cards and wondr by BNI QRIS, where a portion of the transaction proceeds also contributed to the ITB Sustainable Fund.

Since 1968, BNI has been ITB's strategic partner in supporting national education. Eko emphasized that this synergy will continue to be strengthened through relevant banking solutions for institutions, students, and alumni. "BNI believes that educational sustainability is key to educating the nation. Through events like the Wondr ITB Ultra Marathon, we are not only celebrating sports but also reaffirming our tangible contribution to the future of Indonesian education. Good luck to ITB, In Harmonia Progressio," he concluded.

With a vibrant closing ceremony, the wondr ITB Ultra Marathon 2025 proved that sports can be a platform for intergenerational solidarity, as well as a medium for real collaboration to advance higher education in Indonesia.
