BNI Establishes Health Posts to Support Recovery for Residents Affected by Flash Floods in Aceh

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, has established Health Posts as part of its BNI Volunteer Post to support the handling and recovery of residents affected by flash floods in several areas of Aceh. The posts presence are part of BNI's humanitarian efforts during the emergency response and initial post-disaster recovery phase.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said the health posts provide free health check-ups for affected communities as an effort to detect health conditions early and as a basis for further treatment if referrals to health facilities are needed.

"Through these health posts, BNI works to ensure the health of affected communities remains monitored, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and pregnant and breastfeeding women," Okki said in a written statement.

According to Okki, this health services complement various forms of humanitarian assistance distributed through the BNI Volunteer Post as part of the company's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, which focuses on sustainable recovery. This activity is carried out in synergy with the SOE Big Family through the BUMN Peduli (One Heart for Sumatra) program, coordinated by Danantara Indonesia.

The BNI Volunteer Posts have been operating in Leuser Village, Ketambe Sub-Regency, Southeast Aceh Regency since December 19, 2025, and in Tanah Jambo Aye Sub-Regency, North Aceh Regency since December 22, 2025, covering the areas of Alue Ie Mierah, Lhok Reudeup, and Jrat Manyang.

During the operational period, BNI, along with BNI Volunteers, provided health checks to hundreds of affected residents. Based on the examination results, the complaints encountered were generally mild and common post-disaster, such as fever, diarrhea, minor injuries, and hypertension in the elderly. The treatment included medical examinations, wound care, medication and vitamin administration, and referrals to the nearest health facility if necessary.

The presence of BNI posts and volunteers in the affected communities is expected to help accelerate the recovery process, especially for vulnerable groups who need ongoing health assistance.

"BNI will continue to contribute to the recovery efforts of disaster-affected communities through collaboration with various parties, so that the recovery process can be coordinated, sustainable, and have a real impact," Okki concluded.

Through the BNI Berbagi program and the BUMN Peduli synergy, BNI affirms its commitment to continue being present to accompany the community from the emergency response phase to early recovery, as part of the role of BUMN in supporting social and humanitarian resilience.

Further information regarding BNI's humanitarian activities and social programs can be accessed through the official BNI website (www.bni.co.id), which is part of the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem (http://www.danantaraindonesia.co.id).
