PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, has once again reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the development of national badminton through a strategic partnership with the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI). This support is reflected in the achievements of young Indonesian badminton player Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah (Ubed), who successfully advanced to the second round of the BWF World Tour Super 500 Thailand Open 2026.
Competing at Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Wednesday (05/13/2026), Ubed put in an impressive performance after defeating the host nation’s representative, Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul, and keeping Indonesia’s hopes alive in the men’s singles event.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that Ubed’s success is a positive reflection of the development of young Indonesian athletes, which continues to be strengthened through ongoing collaboration between BNI and PBSI.
“Ubed is one of the best young talents being groomed to carry on Indonesia’s tradition of badminton excellence on the world stage. BNI believes that a strong new generation is key to ensuring Indonesia remains competitive on the international stage,” Okki said in an official statement.
Born in Sampang, Madura, on June 26, 2007, Ubed is known as one of Indonesia’s rising stars in men’s singles. At a young age, he has already achieved numerous international accomplishments at the junior level and helped strengthen the Indonesian team at the Sudirman Cup 2025.
The 175-cm-tall badminton player also successfully won a silver medal for Indonesia at the SEA Games 2025. His consistent competitive performance has established Ubed as a key pillar in the regeneration of Indonesia’s men’s singles program, ensuring the legacy of his seniors at the PBSI National Training Center continues.
Okki added that, during its more than five years as a strategic partner of PBSI, BNI has remained committed to supporting the entire national badminton development ecosystem, from the early age groups all the way up to the elite level.
According to him, this support is demonstrated not only through sponsorship of various international tournaments, but also through active contributions to the organization of national circuits and ongoing youth athlete development programs.
“BNI intends to be more than just a sponsor; we want to be a partner in the growth of Indonesian badminton. We believe that investing in young athletes is an investment in the future of national sports and a source of national pride,” said Okki.
Guided by the spirit of “Serving the Nation, Pride of the Nation,” BNI is confident that its consistent support for PBSI will produce more generations of accomplished athletes capable of keeping the Indonesian flag flying high on the world stage.
