BNI Spread Billions of Rupiah for E-Commerce Customers

Jakarta, 21 October 2020 --- Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have an important role in driving the pace of the people's economy and become one of the important pillars of the Indonesian economy. MSMEs also assist the government in absorbing productive age workers, which are expected to support the efforts to restore the national economy.

By carrying out this important role, MSMEs need support from market networks through online buying and selling transactions or e-commerce. Not only for business operations, e-commerce makes it easier for MSME players to market their products more widely. Moreover, the pandemic has made people more dependent on e-commerce to shop from home.

Seeing this, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI collaborates with Tokopedia by becoming a partner bank for sellers to disburse the proceeds from the sale of transactions at the online shop. This collaboration is driven by the composition of BNI's current entrepreneurial customers, which make up 12 percent of total BNI customers.

That was the explanation of the Consumer Business Director of BNI, Corina Leyla Karnalies in Jakarta, Wednesday, 21 October 2020.

“BNI held a promo program for Tokopedia sellers who chose BNI Taplus Bisnis as their cash disbursement account with a total prize pool of IDR 1.4 billion. The more often the sellers disburse their sales proceeds at BNI Taplus Bisnis, the greater the chance to get prizes, "said Corin.

Corina added that the prizes consist of savings of IDR 543 million, Tokopedia gift vouchers every month, and rewards in the form of BNI Poin+ so that the total prize prepared by BNI is Rp. 1.4 billion. BNI hopes that the prize in the form of savings can be used as additional business capital.

BNI and Tokopedia also collaborate to provide various attractive promos for buyers who use BNI debit or credit cards as online payment tools for transactions on Tokopedia. For buyers and sellers who don't have a BNI account, currently can open a BNI account online in the Tokopedia application. Opening savings is easier, without needing to come to BNI branch office, and you can get rewards of up to IDR 46,000.

"Third party funds that BNI collected through savings products grew by 9.6% year to date and 12.8% year on year as of September 2020," said Corina.
