Jakarta, 9 March 2021 -- In the midst of global economic conditions that are still challenging due to the Covid-19 pandemic, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) has prepared a number of strategies that can help Indonesian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) entrepreneurs survive and rise immediately.
BNI’s President Director, Royke Tumilaar said, in addition to restructuring credit, the Company is also helping Indonesian MSME players to change their business model to be digital-based (go digital). "We definitely prioritize helping those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Then we help with credit restructuring and provide additional capital to expand the business. After that, we will change the basis of the business model to become a digital platform so that the business can be more efficient," said Royke in Jakarta, last week.
He added, during this pandemic, the Company focuses on helping BNI-fostered MSMEs to transform into digital-based business actors. BNI also encourages MSME players to make optimal use of the company's global network, especially to expand the market with an export business orientation.
"First, we direct these MSMEs to go digital, so later we will take from corporate customers, then we will expand them abroad with our own channels," explained Royke.Â
He said that as a state-owned bank, BNI is ready to support the success of government programs including the National Economic Recovery Program (PEN) due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the Company will fully assist Indonesian entrepreneurs in developing their business abroad and support financing for MSME segment of the diaspora abroad.Â
"With the trend in cost of low interest rates, we encourage these MSME exporters to grow and compete more so that the economy will recover more quickly. How we have a global network so that MSMEs can use our network to export and go digital," Royke concluded.
