As a Global Capacity Bank, This is BNI's Strategy

JAKARTA, 15 August 2022 – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI (stock code: BBNI) continues to be committed to providing full support for customers in increasing business capacity overseas. Improving internal capabilities to offering comprehensive banking solutions is BNI's strategy to continue to strengthen its position as a global bank from Indonesia.

BNI Corporate Banking Director, Silvano Rumantir said that BNI has DNA as a corporate banking that actively supports the expansion of corporate customers to the world stage, so the Company so far has an overseas office network of up to 8 office networks, including in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, London, New York, and Osaka sub branch and representative office in Amsterdam.

“Of course, we will continue to strengthen this network capability. With the current capacity, we hope to be better at providing services that are able to answer the increasingly complex business needs of corporate customers," he said.

Silvano emphasized that BNI is not satisfied with simply offering conventional solutions. More complex solutions can be provided with investment banking capabilities that continue to be improved, including through the establishment of BNI securities operations in Singapore and the joining of global talents who are specialists in the syndication and investment business, in BNI overseas branches.

Strategic value that is also offered by BNI's global network is efficient access to funding the global capital market, as well as competitive foreign exchange financing facilities to support the expansion of Indonesian companies overseas, and Indonesian-related company business operations abroad through comprehensive solutions.

"Of course, BNI's products are also very varied and can be adapted to customer needs such as payment and collection, supply chain financing, trade finance, bank guarantees, and remittances. All of this can also be accessed with the BNIDirect digital platform for corporate customers and their value chain so that customers can get favorable economies of scale for their business," he said.

In order to support each of customers to Go Global, Silvano continued, BNI also proactively supports marketing efforts and customer business development in international markets, by facilitating Foreign Direct Investment of multinational companies in Indonesia. In fact, BNI often involves a global network to conduct business matching between domestic customers and several potential buyers and suppliers from abroad.

“Obviously from this strategy we hope to generate stronger revenue. We hope that our position as a proud national bank with global capacity can be even stronger in the next 5-10 years with the establishment of a solid international client-based,” he concluded.
