PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI shows concrete steps in supporting national food security through the distribution of People's Business Credit (KUR) to the food sector. Until the end of 2024, BNI's KUR portfolio focused on supporting food security has reached IDR14.3 trillion, reaching more than 128,000 debtors throughout Indonesia.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo conveyed that the allocation covers 43% of BNI's total KUR portfolio of IDR 33.2 trillion as of December 2024.
“BNI is committed to strengthening the MSME ecosystem in the food sector as part of a real contribution to the government's priority program in realizing food self-sufficiency,” Okki said in a written statement, Saturday (12/4/2025).
BNI provides easy access to KUR applications through BNI outlets and online at https://kreditkecil-program.bni.co.id. KUR BNI is offered with low interest rates and requirements that are tailored to the needs of MSMEs.
The KUR schemes offered include KUR Supermicro with a limit of up to IDR 10 million, KUR Mikro between IDR 10 million and IDR 100 million, KUR Kecil for financing above IDR 100 million to IDR 500 million, and KUR PMI for financing up to IDR100 million. Special financing with a limit of up to IDR100 million is given without additional collateral.
In addition to KUR distribution, BNI also actively supports the Farmer Group Association (Gapoktan) Institutional Development Program into cooperatives initiated by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop). This program aims to make cooperatives a direct distributor of subsidized fertilizers to farmers.
“BNI is ready to provide working capital financing to Gapoktan which has been transformed into a cooperative, so that it can play a role in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers and other business development,” Okki added.
BNI's support for the transformation of Gapoktan is part of an effort to strengthen the national agro-industrial ecosystem while improving the welfare of farmers and small business actors in the food sector.
This strategic step shows BNI's consistency in supporting the government's Asta Cita agenda, especially in efforts to create sustainable and equitable food security.
