BNI supports entrepreneurship program for retired Taspen participants

Bogor, January 16, 2019 — PT Taspen held a Retirement Entrepreneurship Program event for civil servants and retired Taspen participants at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) in Sentul, Bogor, West Java, on Jan. 16. Taspen invited 4,000 active civil servants and 1,000 retired Taspen participants and their partners. As a banking partner, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) also supported the event as one of its main sponsors.

Present at the event was President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini M Soemarno, Taspen director Iqbal Lantaro, BNI institutional relations director Adi “Susi” Sulistyowati and BNI retail banking director Tambok P Setyawati. The theme of the event was Prosperous in the Second Generation, which aims to raise the spirit of entrepreneurship of civil servants in preparing for their retirement period.

Susi stated that Taspen, as an institution, was the main partner for BNI. As for Taspen pensioners, the partnership between BNI and Taspen works through institutional fund management, retirement savings funds and pension credit financing through BNI Flexion Pre-Pension and Pension.

In this event, BNI also presented 50 retirees and one small enterprise who became BNI's foster partners. They had succeeded in pioneering their businesses after retirement.

"All of these customers, both pensioners and prospective pensioners, have the opportunity to obtain a BNI Pension Flexion facility that can be used to conduct entrepreneurial activities. The interest rates offered are low, while provision and administrative costs are also low. The loan term can be submitted up to 15 years before retiring," Susi said.

Tambok added that each year, pensioners who channel their retirement benefits through BNI have experienced a significant increase.

"It was recorded that in December 2018 the number of pensioners who distributed pension benefits at BNI grew by 60 percent compared to the previous year, followed by the growth of pension loans to Taspen participants reaching 94 percent higher than the previous year. This proves that BNI has committed to providing the best services for prospective pensioners and current pensioners, especially the Taspen participants," Tambok said.

It is hoped that through this event, BNI as one of Taspen’s partners can provide optimal services in terms of channeling pension benefits and financing for all civil servants and pensioners, especially to improve their welfare and financial management wisely in retirement
